Trapped Dreams
Dreams about being trapped, feeling lost with no way out or being unable to move are quite common. Also, you may even experience a dream of being buried alive or that you have lost the ability to scream or breathe.
These dreams usually indicate frustrations you may be feeling in your waking life. They could be equated to a dead-end job you are in, someone holding you back in your career advancement, or a relationship in which you may feel trapped. You may feel that you are faced with no choice in a situation in your waking life or that you are facing difficulty in making up your mind about something.
Take note that this type of dream can be a beneficial one. It is an alarm bell going off to remind you to think outside of the “box” you have been trapped inside and begin to find ways to solve or eliminate problems that are holding you back. Don’t let circumstances surrounding your life entrap you.
Another reason for dreaming of being trapped may stem from your holding on to old habits, behaviors and attitudes that no longer serve you. Begin to shed these negative ideas so that you may change your life’s course for the better. Awaken your true self and become a stronger and more fulfilled individual. This dream may also indicate that you might be trying to break free from old teachings or family traditions that were an obligatory part of your childhood, but no longer apply to your current situation or lifestyle. Breaking away from these closely held ideologies may be causing you fear and feelings of guilt. This is a time to be strong and to hold true to your own beliefs and philosophy.
Feeling trapped, caged or paralyzed in a dream may also relate to your feeling powerless in a situation, or one in which you are controlled by others, so much so that you have lost your own identity. Take this dream as a sign to reevaluate you relationships with others and make sure that you are on an even playing field with them. Don’t let yourself be manipulated by others in deference to your own needs and desires.
