Astrological Dualities and Polarities

Dualities and polarities are groupings of zodiac signs by their
yin and yang qualities and opposite characteristics.

 

Dualities

The zodiac signs are split into two different groups six signs are feminine (yin) and the other six are masculine (yang). These groups are known as the dualities. The masculine or active signs are the fire and air signs ? Aries, Leo, Sagittarius, Gemini, Libra and Aquarius. The feminine or passive signs are the earth and water signs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.

 

Polarities

Each of the zodiac signs is also divided into six groups of two signs each. These groups are known as polarities, meaning opposites. The two signs in a group are opposite each other on the zodiac wheel) and reflect opposite characteristics. The list below indicates the specific signs and their polarities. The picture shows the polarity between the different signs.

 

Even though the signs are opposite each other, you can consider them to be complementary, as well. Opposites often make a good team. Keep in mind the old saying that ?opposites attract.
